If an odd plus and odd is an even, then what about 1.5 + 1.5?
If it ends in an odd digit, shouldn't it be an odd number?
Is 1.5 odd ... or is it not classified?
The aide piped up, "Think of it as 1.50 - that's even."
Q that perplexed us today: "if an odd plus and odd is an even, then what about 1.5+1.5? Is it odd, or not classified?" @MathCurmudgeon

But if 1.50 is even, then 1.50 + 1.50 = 3 and so Even + Even = Odd.
ReplyDeleteBest to assume that even and odd numbers can only be integers.
